Below are some of the final images I used for my A-level Portfolio. I focused to begin with on the themes of womens rights and how some stereotypes are portrayed in society, this lead me to look at the work of Liora K in the first 4 photographs completing some self-portraits. I then decided to take a twist on the presentation of females and delve into the world of fairytales and look at the presentation of the female here. Within this I looked Snow White, females from the world of Harry Potter and the evil queen from Snow White and the Huntsman. While exploring fairytales I also came across the portrayal of witches which turned my project more historical to look at how the female population was persecuted during the witch trials, to do this I explored the work of Shakespeares Macbeth, developing a calligram style using Macbeth script, and then moved to experiment in the format of film photography taking portraits depicting females that could simply be any one of us but were so easily persecuted during this horrific period. Finally I combined skills used throughout my portfolio for my final images and gained a grade A for both my final photographs and a witches shrine board and spell book that combined my work into one final piece of physical artwork.
